Boating around the San Juans - Part One

We love our trusty little Boston Whaler "Bad Boy." After a successful third trip to the Great Slave Lake, but an unsuccessful attempt at reaching Fort Reliance (due to high winds over the lake), Captain F returned to Fidalgo Island with boat in tow and spent the remaining time of his summer vacation taking Bad Boy out to explore the calm waters around the San Juan Islands. I'm always more than eager to tag along and savor as well as photograph this boating paradise.

Here are some shots from two day voyages we made on July 21st and 24th. Won't you come along for a ride?

Bad Boy at Washington Park - usually the smallest boat on the water...

Cap Sante Boat Haven in Anacortes...

The Polar Adventure resting before embarking on another journey...

The middle island is called Hat Island...

Can these waters get any calmer?

Mount Baker...

Checking out an inlet...

Yachties enjoying the sunshine...

Cocktail hour...

The lighthouse on Patos Island...

Deception Pass Bridge...

A quiet anchorage...

Nearing the shore...

More calm waters of the Puget Sound...

Everyone's favorite port - Friday Harbor...

The ferry at Friday Harbor...

Views of Friday Harbor...

A seaplane taking off at Friday Harbor with Mt. Baker in the background...

Hope you enjoyed the ride. There's more to come...
