In early May I decided to hop - left the car in Anacortes - on the Washington State Ferry and head over to Victoria, BC. I've been to Victoria numerous times to visit all my fabulous relatives, but this time I just hung out with my sweet aunt and uncle. I did find some time to stroll through their pretty neighborhood, but the rest of the time we just talked, and talked, and talked - about everything and anything. It was so much fun.
I don't have any shots from the trip over since I was sharing a booth on the ferry with the cutest ex-Navy Seal I've ever met, so naturally I spent the entire time chatting with him (and staring at his gorgeous face!) That made the three hour ferry ride fly by...believe me.
Spring arrived late in Victoria, as it did throughout the PNW. During my stay the weather was mostly just gray, cool, and drizzly with only brief visits from the sun. Oh well. That didn't stop me and my Nikon from taking walks in search of photo ops...
The view from my uncle's place...

Hear, hear!!
Or, maybe not. I'm a third generation British Columbian, now living in Alberta, but I'm going "home" next month to see my family. Maybe if all your friends from California arrive at once, it will be too crowded in BC.
Gorgeous photos, Linnea. Thank you so much for a trip to Vancouver Island or, as we call it, "The Island" (always with a capital i).

What a beautiful place Victoria is! Thank you for sharing the gorgeous shots.
From one of your crazy friends in CA
Ouch! that hit me hard :)
I have been to BC, not Victoria although it's not for lack of tryign believe me.
Wow, what a great bunch of photos! The silhouetted tree could grace Sylvia Plath's "Winter Trees," and the blooming dogwood tree is beautiful.
great photo collection... we should really push through with our trip to BC - real soon...

Wonderful shots. I have not been to Victoria, but to the BC mainland. I'm not from California, I'm from Germany. Sometimes the nearest travel is hard, people think, why should you go now, go later.
What??!!! No photo of the cute ex-Navy Seal?! LOL
Great photos Linnea (as always). You make me want to go there RIGHT NOW. That cove looks divine. Would love to sit there and meditate. My fav photos is the mossy bench with the grape hyacinths. Beautiful
