Winters, CA

On my recent trip up to the PNW, I decided to stop over in the town of Winters instead of just zooming past the exit as I usually do. I got there pretty early in the morning and it was already 90 degrees! The winds were blustery and there was a fun quilt walk going on throughout the historic downtown; unfortunately, the hot winds didn't die down at all, so the quilts kept fluttering around on their display posts making it difficult to appreciate their intricate artistry. Winters has a charming and spotless little downtown. I was very impressed by it and if I lived nearby, I would definitely visit it more often. Apparently there is a great steakhouse in town, too, called the Buckhorn Steakhouse. In spite of the sweltering early morning heat and lack of a sunhat on my part, I managed to explore a bit and capture some of this cute town's charm.

According to the tourist information, there always seems to be a lot going on in this delightful town. But even if there isn't some sort of festival scheduled, it's worth a visit just to stroll around, grab a bite to eat, and do a little shopping. You won't be disappointed!
