Harvard University

Z and I took the commuter train from Newburyport into Boston and then switched over to the subway for a quick ride to Harvard. We just wanted to walk around Harvard Yard and soak in the mystique of Harvard University. Harvard Yard is a grassy area that constitutes the oldest part of the campus. It's where the freshman dormitories are as well as some libraries and the famous statue of John Harvard, the university's first benefactor. Come along for a quick tour...

Santa Clara

It's because of this...

that I ended up here - at beautiful Mission Santa Clara...

Silly me. My iphone cracked when it slipped silently out of my back pocket and hit the driveway. Not willing to pay the Apple pricetag for a new screen, I found a business that replaces iphone screens for a very reasonable price while you wait. I figured that since I'm driving all the way to Silicon Valley for just a brief visit to Cupertinoiphone.com, I may as well find some place to shoot off some photos, so I decided to hit up Mission Santa Clara on my way back home. The mission happens to also be on the grounds of posh Santa Clara University.

Then I walked the pristine grounds of Santa Clara University. The spring semester had ended and the summer session had not yet started, so the campus was rather deserted but pristine and picturesque nonetheless...













Not a bad place to go to college, eh? And my iphone is now once again presentable looking.

Cal Day - Berkeley

Last weekend was Cal Day at U.C. Berkeley; that means it's open house and anyone is invited to visit the campus, attend lectures, take tours, gather information, and just soak up the fun and colorful atmosphere at this world class university. I met up with some friends and enjoyed the sights and festivities. The lighting wasn't the greatest for taking photos, but here's a sampling of just a bit of what I saw...
