Boston Revisited

I came upon a few more shots that Z had sent me via his cell phone and realized that I had neglected to post them with the others. So, take a look at some more lovely views of Boston...

Maybe Z will end up back in Boston for college...Wouldn't that be fun!

Z's Boston

I'm the only one in the family who travels with a camera and actually uses it. Thus, it can get frustrating at times since the documenting of our trips, be they near or far, invariably falls on me. As a result, I have very few photos of myself as I'm the one always snapping away. Oh well, I know what I look like!! More frustrating, however, is when F or Z take off on their journeys without me and neglect to take even one photo. To me that's astounding! How could you not want to have some photographic images of where you were!?

So, not wanting to be the pestering and nagging mother, I cautiously asked Z on his last day in Boston if he had taken any photos. His response, "Uh, well, no." So I gently suggested that it might be fun to shoot some off with his cell phone camera, the only camera he had... And so on his last afternoon in Boston before he flew home the next day, he raced around and did as I asked. Here are the results...just a few shots, but they're quite enjoyable nonetheless...

New England Towns

During my visit to New England, my cousin took me around to see and photograph some of the smaller, historical places of interest near her home in Newburyport. It's so easy to get around and the distances are so close that you can visit many notable places in just a small geographical area - this place is FULL of history!

We stopped off in Duxbury to attend a small party at the yacht club,

but first we took in some of the colorful sights like this long wooden bridge...

Duxbury is known for its gorgeous homes, many on the waterfront...

Duxbury became a popular summer resort in the late 1800's,

but now it's a popular "suburb" of Boston for boat lovers...

The Myles Standish Monument was built to honor

the military leader of Plymouth Colony...

One of the nearby yacht clubs...

Just down the road from Duxbury is Plymouth,

so we had to go check out the famous Plymouth Rock...

We also went to Salem, a popular spot on the tourist route

because of the Salem witchcraft trails of 1692...

It's an extremely picturesque town with lots of beautiful old buildings...

I insisted we visit lovely Walden Pond,

and we walked around its shoreline...

Nearby is the Minute Man National Historical Park where you can learn

all about the opening battle of the American Revolution...

The North Bridge...

The quaint town of Concord...

I LOVE New England houses...

The town cemeteries are so interesting and fun to explore...

We headed north into New Hampshire to the town of Exeter,

home to the Phillips Exeter Academy...

If you love early American history, you'll surely find New England a treasure to explore - and photograph!
