As the saying goes, "East or West, Guilin landscape is best!" I couldn't agree more even though much of it was shrouded in a magical mist most of the time I was there. Oh well...you can't preselect the weather conditions.
It was nice to leave the crowded cities behind and set foot in a more peaceful and natural environment. My brief visit to this picturesque corner of China was packed full of sightseeing: strangely shaped karst topography, the meandering Li River, colorful rice terraces and family farms, the narrow streets and alleyways of Yangshuo, the Reed Flute Cave, and the striking grounds of Guangxi Normal University. This is one place I would definitely return to if I could...
Cruising the Li River...

I am really enjoying seeing these great pictures you took of your visit to China. Cute one of the mother and her child. Not so cute of the snakes in the jar. Poor snakes. Am looking forward to more.
Hey Linnea-
I didn't know you would be near. Is this a work trip? Your pictures are wonderful; it all just looks so familiar yet so much more artistic than mine. I look forward to seeing more and to hearing your opinion of Hong Kong.
Safe travels,
Katy
I always wanted to go to Hong Kong before the British lease expired, but never did. I hear it hasn't changed a great deal.
Your photos today are wonderful. There is so much beauty in China, and so few of us in North America realize it until we visit there. Thanks for sharing the beauty with us.

Rain aside you had a wonderful time there as evidenced by these photos. The river cruise is fantastic.
Beautiful landscapes and the mistiness certainly adds to the mystique. I also like the misty softness in the other images contrasted with the nice bright colors. Wonderful series of photos!
Hi,Linnea, what about your picture in Xi'an, Beijing and SHanghai? Did't see it, that must be nice too.
