It hailed pellets the size of raisins as I headed south from Anacortes down I-5 toward Seattle, but once I walked out of the parking garage near Pike Place Market, the cloudy gray layers parted ways to reveal beautiful blue skies and warm sunshine. I had several hours to wile away until I had to head over to Gig Harbor to meet up with a special friend, so I decided to take a peek into the public market and walk around its surrounding neighborhood. The streets were crowded and the narrow alleyways inside were packed with other tourists, who like me were savoring the colorful sights and sounds. Welcome to Seattle's waterfront area...

What a great tour with beautiful photos!
Thanks for your nice visiting on my blog!
Wonderful Seattle photos! I have relatives there and get there every couple years. Much of this looked familiar, but I hadn't seen the bubble gum encrusted building before. And the statue of liberty??
Seattle is on my list of must sees. When can I check it off? Who knows. Lovely pix as always.
Seattle is so fun. Elliott's Oysters is always a must.
You have a very beautiful and nice blog. I was greeted with with lovely blooms on the blog banner. It is colourful.
What an exciting tour you had. :-) Bright sunny weather. Great for outdoor.
Wow, the first starbucks! Different from the ones they have here. I wonder if they have the same menus in in branches in different countries acrosee the globe.
Nice market too. So many beautiful flowers at the florist.
Thanks for visiting. :-)
Hope you have a nice day.
Lovely city. The closest I got was on my honeymoon, when we transited at SeaTac. Place where I tasted hot and sour soup a la America for the very first time. It was nectar from heaven, after throwing up several times during the trans-pacific flight. Hope I will have a chance to return and visit at a more leisurely pace...
Es ist wie in einem Bildband zu blättern und von einer ganz anderen Kultur zu lesen. Es sit alles sehr farbig und die Aufnehmen erzählen vom leben dort. Ich finde das so spannend mit deinen Bildern virtuell zu reisen.
Pike's Market is so vibrant and colorful, I hope to go to Seattle someday yet. I've never been to OR or WA. Hubby has been to Renton many times for business. Lucky him! Wonderful photos!
