The sun came out just long enough for me to head into the historical part of Yreka and stroll around its downtown. There was a lot to photograph. In particular, Miner Street offers the visitor a glimpse into the town's past as a once thriving mining center. The name Yreka comes from the Indian name Wyrekah, which means white mountain. And today the mountains surrounding the quaint town were all topped with lots white from the snowstorm. Come along and take a look...
A little bit of spring popping out...
This friendly resident, Gene, insisted that I photograph him...

Great pictures! Nice town! Too bad we always zoom past on I-5... Beautiful country up there...
Whew, I thought you were traveling in a foreign land! The photos are beautiful! It is a quaint town and lots of interesting places to see.
Your Volvo, still not a scratch!
One place I really wanted to explore too - that part of the state.
Locals who insist being photograph are the best kind.
