After classes today, I took the bus downtown, walked around, and shot off some more photos. The center of town was noticeably more crowded than usual. Because of its proximity to Mexico City, Cuernavaca is a popular destination for those living there who wish to escape the crowds, traffic, and pollution and being semana santa, the streets here in downtown Cuernavaca are now full of tourists, presumably many from Mexico City. Here's a little bit of what I saw...
A typical home/store...
One of the commercial pedestrian zones...
Another home/store...
A clothing store displaying its goods...
A small church I came upon...
The Governor's Palace...
The zocolo and its Victorian gazebo (designed by Gustave Eiffel, of Eiffel Tower fame)...
Casa Hildalgo, a popular downtown restaurant...
Another colorful building...
Cortez Palace...
Cortez Palace
The Brady Museum...
The Cathedral...
The inner sanctuaries and courtyard...
The Cathedral courtyard...
Z relaxing by the pool...
