Good Friday

Although Good Friday was a holiday throughout Mexico, we still had Spanish classes. I guess they figure that we pay for a whole week, so they're going to keep teaching us even if the rest of the country has the day off. I'm sure the teachers would have liked to have had the day off, though. There was a procession that passed right by the school, so we all went out and watched it. There was a lot of shouting and yelling going on, and "Jesus" was getting flogged as he carried the cross up the street. His face was even painted red to simulate blood. Strange religious rituals... 





Here are some shots from the grounds around the university. The university actually has several locations along the same street - all walled compounds, but all of our classes are held in the same compound which consists of about nine classroom buildings.
