Yesterday was California High School's graduation ceremony in San Ramon. Since Z was graduating, we participated in the late afternoon festivities - along with hundreds of other happy parents, siblings, relatives, and of course graduates...
The ceremony took place on the football field and the weather was perfect...
The calm before the storm...
Waiting patiently...
The dignitaries arrived...
The grads began marching in...
The girls sat on one side and the boys on the other...
A group of singers performed...
Students waited for their names to be called...
The Jazz band performed...
Speeches were given...
The audience was captivated (or at least pretended)...
Lots of water was consumed...
The diplomas were finally handed out one by one...
That's our Z, now a high school graduate...
Family members followed the names as they were read off...
Hats were a must...
Flowers were everywhere...
Even two daring boys streaked across the field in their undies...
Some people texted...
Some people read...
Some went for comfort over fashion...
And others waited patiently as the names were read alphabetically...
The last row of students...
Then when it was over, everyone spilled onto the field to take photos...
Congratuations to the class of 2010!
Go Grizzlies!

Congratulations to Z! Hmmmm, UA? I hope he chose the right University for him.
Love the different decors of the graduation caps, esp the smiley.
Lovely photos, Linnea. The school might well be pleased to have some of them! Your high school graduations are wonderful. We don't have graduation ceremonies until the end of university. The end of high school just pretty much fizzles out, which is a shame. This looks like a lovely event.
congratulations! so where is he going for further educ?
