We practically had the place to ourselves. I think I counted about half a dozen other tourists strolling around the quiet, deserted streets. Unlike Bodie, which is truly a ghost town, Randsburg is probably best considered a "living" ghost town. Believe it or not, a handful of residents still call this delightful place home. Come take a quick look.
The main drag...
The old City Jail...
The shopping district...
There are several churches in the community...
Who's that peeking out the window?
Remnants of an outhouse...
Once upon a time...
A quiet neighborhood street...
The surrounding area...
Onward to Death Valley...
So be sure to visit this charming, old town, but try to go any time other than summertime - for obvious reasons. There are numerous gift shops, antique stores, junk shops, a museum, and a couple of eateries - I recommend the General Store. As you explore the quiet streets, you might even encounter a ghost!
Do you have a favorite ghost town? Next stop: Death Valley.
