After the 4th of July, I flew out to the east coast with Z to get him settled into the summer program at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. After he got checked into the dorms, I spent a week at my cousin's home in Newburyport, which is just 30 miles northeast of Boston. Newburyport is a charming New England town located on the mouth of the Merrimack River. It's a feast for the eyes and has a colorful past. It was once a huge fishing, trading, and ship building center and is home to the first coast guard station, the first tea party rebellion, the first state mint and treasury building, and the first clipper ship. It's a delightful town and is very pedestrian friendly. In spite of the high heat and humidity, I spent hours pounding the sidewalks with my camera glued to my eye...

If you ever find yourself near Boston, be sure to try to take a sidetrip to Newburyport. You won't be disappointed, no matter what season it happens to be! Next stop: Cape Ann.

so, when are you going to start sending your great pictures to the businesses in them, and / or the visitors bureau for the towns, and sell some of these amazing shots?? I had no idea you had such a photographer's eye... i've been begging for a family pic for 5 years now - how are you with people shots?!?!?!
